Best Glutes Since Living on the Hill

For four years, I, and about 2800 students, worked daily on having some of the best glutes and calves in the nation. Living on one of the seven hills of Worcester provided a workout plan each every day as one walked from dorms to the math department to the dining hall and back. One time I counted the number of stairs that I climbed in a MORNING and it was well over 500. That is right, 500 stairs in just a few hours.

In those four years, I was toned. And I didn't really have to do much beyond going to class. Jealous? I am, those were the days...

Since graduation, I have been living in Boston and keeping to the flat lands (and streets). Walking to work each day has provided some good light exercise. Well, my new place is on the top of a hill. That light exercise has quickly become good old fashion workout each afternoon. Walking to the T and to work is easy. It is downhill. Walking back...well that involves climbing back up. I can feel the burn each and every day now. I'm guessing it will take about a month before I have the perfect butt. :) Wish me luck!

False Hopes Turned Amazing Find

For a brief moment I thought my boobs had grown a bit. It's not like I could have shrunk the shirt midday and the chest area was a bit snugger right around lunch - so I got a little excited. Now I'm guessing I wasn't emptying out my lungs and they were holding onto air longer because upon closer inspection there is no way my membership to the Itty Bitty Titty Committee has expired.

You may be thinking to yourself, why is she telling me this? This seems sad and pathetic. No. The closer inspection to my shape gave way to a fantastic find! My butt is back!

When I was home for the holidays my family and family friends all told me that I was getting skinny. I started to look at myself in the mirror and realized that while the number on the scale wasn't much smaller than before, my shape was definitely changing. I immediately saw that my butt was fading away. My butt and I get along great, especially on the dance floor. It shakes - a lot.

You can understand my concern. I considered lunges to get the glutes back into shape and at least bring the butt up a bit. But I never followed through with that.

However, it would appear that somehow the universe got back in order all on its own. I may even be able to take back the title of "big butt" from my sister - granted I tried to push it onto her and no one else took the bait but now I want it back. Yay!!! Can't wait to hear Apple Bottom Jeans to celebrate!

Fat bottoms may be good for health, protect against diabetes - Harvard researchers

The Daily Telegraph

  • Big butts could be a health plus
  • Fat may protect against type 2 diabetes
  • Lopez, Beyonce on to a good thing

WOMEN can stop worrying about pear-shaped figures - fat bottoms have been scientifically proven to be a sign of good health.

New research, published in the journal Cell Metabolism, suggests the fat responsible for producing the pear shape flaunted by celebrities such as Jennifer Lopez and Beyonce may be active in protecting women from diseases by releasing certain hormones.

Buttock and hip fat may protect women against type 2 diabetes, from which more than 1.7 million Australians now suffer, researchers from the Harvard Medical School found.

When buttocks and hip fat from mice was injected into other mice, their bodies easily used the blood sugar-regulating hormone insulin and lost weight.
