Don't Flash What Yo Mama Gave You

I have begun to consider the idea that crossing over to the leggings as pants fashion concept isn't as terrible as I once thought. BUT, I do feel the need to defend myself in saying that this is only after I choosing to use real leggings (not those thin ones that are really tights that are incorrectly labeled) AND I would be pairing them with a very long shirt. As much as I love my butt and am quite proud of its size and shape, there is still no need for it to be in your face. I am not a supporter of wearing a stress (a shirt being used as a dress) without making sure that my lady bits will stay covered and that there is no way that there could be an incident.

That being said, let's get to the point of this post.

Now, unfortunately, not all designers feel the same way that I do about what is a shirt and what is a dress. These really short "dresses" are also being styled minimally. Models are left barelegged, which makes a potential flash of lady bits all more likely. For the last year or so, I have noticed that Urban Outfitters will often put tunics on models with no leggings, or pants. (See slideshow)

Turns out that I am not the only one who has noticed this phenomena. Daddy Likey is a blog that has a reoccurring post entitled "Don't Show-cha Your Chocha". I think it is amazing. This is up there with the leggings are not pants blog that sadly seems to have been abandoned as the URL goes no where. I am going to add Daddy Likey to my blog watch. :)

Winter Fashion Isn't Going Anywhere AnytimeSoon

Punxsutawney Phil has spoken. Or at least his shadow has. Turns out there will be six more weeks of winter. This probably takes no one by surprise given the freezing cold temperatures we have been have up here in New England the snow that has caused the Carolinas to go into panic.

The only bright side that I can think of is that this gives me a chance to try out the whole legging look. I know I have always said leggings do not equal pants, but leggings are getting thicker and remind me of those glorious days in the 80s where I rocked the stirrup pants.

Doing the Unthinkable

Tonight, I plan on going out wearing tights as pants.

I am just as shocked as you all are. But I still haven't done laundry and I am simply running out of options to go out in. I have a cute stress (item not quite a shirt not quite a dress...) that is currently hanging in my closet and well, no jeans available to me. So stress and tights it is.

While I am completely fine with wearing short dresses out and about, this stress and tights ensemble is already giving me...well...stress.

I'll have to report back on whether or not this works out.

Please don't consider me a hypocrite, just consider me a lazy ass laundry-er. I have definitely learned my lesson.

Less Pants than Before

Today while I was waiting for a friend to meet me at Copley so that we could go shopping for a top for the concert I am going to I saw a really bad leggings are not pants violation. This violator was walking away from me which allowed me to have a proper angle to determine that she was in need of some pants. The coat she was wearing hit her just at her HIPS and all that was left was leggings. If I can see the cup of you butt in that much detail you are in need of some pants sweetheart. I realize that I have an addiction to skirts/dresses that barely cover my butt, but it is covered so would no consider myself a hypocrite. I just happen to walk the fine line with the skill of a tight rope artist.

As awesome as these are, I mean I'd love to have them, they are NOT pants.

soooo not pants

I completely forgot about this moment. Today was/is amazingly warm out. This morning walking to work I was slightly miffed at myself for opting for pants rather than a dress. As I was thinking this I saw a girl come walking towards me. She was wearing a men's long button down shirt and TIGHTS.

TIGHTS.

We all can agree that leggings do not equal pants. Well, tights are even less pants. She wouldn't walk around in a button down shirt with bare legs out in public. What makes it logical that one can walk around in a shirt and TIGHTS.

I do understand that I walk around in the summer in the shortest of dresses, but at least I am wearing something that is designed to cover both the top and bottom parts of my body. A shirt is not a dress and tights are not pants so we clearly have a problem.

Oh man, I totally just found the best blog...leggings are not pants
