I wish I was a little bit shorter.

I love my height, but sometimes I just really want to be a cute little petite person who can wear anything that the fashion world dreams up. Case in point: Urban Outfitters sent me an email letting me know they have a whole line of them this spring! Of course, I couldn't resist taking a peek and subsequently felt that if I even attempted to try one on I would look like I was wearing clothes made for a toddler. Not sexy and flirty, but awkward, spidery and pathetic. I really love the Pins and Needles Eyelet Piped Romper (see above) but know when it is time to close the web browser and step away.

I'm thinking that I might be able to jump on the jumpsuit bandwagon, a similar trend that seems to be also picking up steam. The extra length in the legs make me believe there is a higher chance these pieces will flatter my body. I have tried a few on in stores here and there. Generally they are not quite proportioned quite right for my long and lean frame - major issues in the crotch area when pulling the top up so as not to be arrested for indecent exposure. But maybe there is hope this year?

As if the fashion deities were looking down on me, as I began this post, I looked to the floor of my living room and saw a Free People catalog. When I flipped it open, I landed right on a page with a great looking jumpsuit (see right). You can't tell by this picture but there are spaghetti straps which I think is a must given the amount of fabric that apart of this look. The last thing I need is my outfit sliding down my torso because my tiny boobs can't create enough of a shelf to hold the look in place!

There was one other article that caught my eye. It is like a new take on overalls. Kind of digging this. Need to find one in a store to try out!

Going under the Naughty List

This sweater is by Grey Antics.

It is entitled "Mommie kissing Mr. Klaus Sweater".

I don't know what about this sweater bothers me more. On one hand we have the simple fact that there would be permanent mittens on the boobs. On the other we have the idea that Santa Klaus would have has hands on my boobs. Either way my boobs are being highlighted and I am not sure if this would be a way I would like to do that. Also the song is about Mommie kissing Santa Klaus, I don't feel like many moms shop for themselves at U.O. but I could be wrong. I bet this shirt is just really hipster and I am too square to get it.

U.O. you seduce me

Urban Outfitters somehow found my email address. And by somehow found, I mean I signed up for their emailing list willingly. This means that I get emails, almost every three days, letting me know of new releases or AMAZING sales. Such a tease and temptress. There was a $5 sale the other week and I had already been looking longingly at some dresses and so I ordered. I ordered a lot. Fortunately, their return policy is awesome!

I brought back a couple items that didn't really fit well, super easy, the employees don't even ask why you are returning the item they just take them right back. The cashier did ask me if I had wanted to exchange them for other mechandice, which was super tempting because U.O. was having its yard sale at the time. But I was strong and said now.

That being said, I then continued with my other errands downtown and bought new underwear at Victoria Secret's Semi-Annual sale (do you notice that these sales seem to last like a month?); they are super cute!

But yeah, Urban really does get me. Lately they have been sending emails letting me know that I would get an additional 15% off sale items. So far I have stayed strong. I think I can make it. Ideally, I don't want to buy more clothing until after my move (August). Part of me thinks that I should un-subscribe from their email list, but the bigger part says hell no!

Long Dress Gladiator Sandals?

As much as I'd hate to admit it I can be a bit girly at times. In order to deal with some of the stress in my life I have turned to retail therapy. Urban Outfitters has always been good to me and their online shopping policies for returning unwanted items is pretty top notch, so I have gotten a little hooked.

Today, I put together an outfit that was so comfy and I kind of wish I was a bit healthier so I could enjoy it more. But it started with.... a maxi dress! Yep, teal and to the floor, it felt like wearing sheets. It was kind of amazing.





For shoes, I went with the gladiators I bought at Aldo earlier last month. They are pretty awesome. I have become a fan. Don't get me wrong, I am in no way hanging up my Barbie pumps, but for the summer months you may see me sport these flats :)







I could tell that the maxi dress needs to be hemmed a bit so to try and keep myself looking a little more professional I grabbed my new old man sweater. It actually reminds me of a 1950s jock sweater. Totally suggest it.










And of course, no outfit would be complete without a pair of sunglasses. U.O. had a $5 sale and I got these. The 80s are definately calling my name and adding all sorts of fun to my wardrobe.

But, yeah, this in a nutshell was my outfit today. I was pleased with it, so I figured I'd share.

I <3 U.O. U.O. <3s Block Island

I less than three Urban Outfitters like you wouldn't believe. Well, you would if you looked in my closet. I get the emails, which is why I knew that there was an amazing dress just waiting for me to purchase her this weekend after having such a lousy Friday (cold shower, denied a new job, broken car thing which became the 48 hour ticket).

I cannot wait to wear it, please let the weather get warmer faster!!!! But really don't you think it's cute?















Well today's email was featuring clothing inspired(?) by Block Island Ferry. Who knew Rhode Island was so fashionable. I mean the Cape has a style, the Hamptons have a style, but Block Island? Again, I say who knew. The description of the line is "Nautical Stripes, Chambray, Plaid, Straw Fedoras, Round Sunglasses, Woven Sandals, Boat Shoes" This doesn't sound like Narragansett's style and I kind of always make Block Island an extension of our town, but whatever things change.

Speaking of clothing, while waiting for an AWESOME coffee date on Sunday I went into some chic boutique on Charles St. There I tried on a dress that most looked like something Yizhak wore during the final scene of Hedwig and the Angry Inch. If you are unsure what that means, see below for a sneak peak, but do yourself a favor and rent the rock opera.

Basically the dress just covered all my lady parts. The sales woman neglected to give me the heads up that it was designed for someone much shorter with a much smaller torso. There was no way I could ever bend over to pick something up. Additionally, while the thing fit like a glove once it was on, i basically had to dislocate my shoulder to get the thing over my head as there was no way in hell that fabric was going to give to make it over my hips.

Sometimes I don't know if the men of this world realize what we women do for fashion. Because let's be honest, even though it was quite a trick to get it on, had this dress had another inch or so of fabric, it would be hanging in my closet hoping for a reason to be worn...
