Cinco De Mayo

Being the original ladies we are, my friends and I decided that we should go out for tequila and nachos. I mean, who else would think to do so on May 5th?

I was able to get to Sunset Cantina first and put our name in for a table. I thought only five of us would be there but I also was afraid I miscounted so I went up to the hostess and said "5??" when she asked for the size of the party. I tried to look as confused as possible, I had a feeling I was wrong.

Well I was, but not because I couldn't count, but because a friend brought her fiance. I had to be sure that the number was updated so that we could get the proper sized table. Feeling like the waitstaff was super stressed, the bar was backed up and there were so many waiting for a table, I went up and told her "So I gave you the wrong number because I forgot to count myself, there are six". The hostess looked at me like, oh I am sorry you are stupid, and updated our info.

I like playing dumb at times. I know that as a customer service person I am slightly more patient with dumb blondes than I am with any other type of dumb person. I guess that could be considered unfair, but hey, get over it.

In the end, we had many good drinks and tasty tasty food. I love Cinco de Mayo, but if we were completely honest with ourselves, every happy hour we arrange ends up with a plate of nachos and at least one person drinking tequila.

Sugar Daddy is in my future!

I loved Freakanomics and thought the book was full of food for thought. Please don't take that sentence as me taking everything as gospel, but the mathematician in me can't help be graviate to the logic.

There is a blog on The New York Times website that is posted to regularly. Recently, the writers let me know that I am destined to marry well and earn more than my brunette counterparts. I will admit, I have played the "dumb blonde" card before and it is so useful. To all the brunettes and redheads in the world, I am sorry you don't have this luxury.

With this in mind, I will be calling my new fabulous hair dresser to make an appointment to freshen up my highlights as the lack of sun from the winter is sadly keeping my hair dark...

PS I found this random post while looking for images and wanted to share :)

Happy People Just Don't Shoot their Husbands

Jazz Funk has yet again saved the day. Been feeling a little draggy lately (and not the fab RuPaul kind, more like the down Eeyore) and need a pick-me-up in a major way. Man I have been using "major" way often lately, it might be my new super. Really, if you need something to do, I would suggest finding a local dance class, something really informal where you can laugh at your mistakes. Mistakes like oh say when you completely face-plant from trying to do a double spin -- yeah it's not like I would know what that feels like....

At this point I would say I have become one of the regulars...we all have a great time pretending we are one of the pussycat dolls :) The sass level is astronomical in there. Oh man, jazzfunk is wonderful.

Side note: This is good, you really want to continue with this story. As I was walking to class from work I was stuck behind this couple with a kid in a stroller on Mass Ave. An orange piece of thin rectangular plastic was dropped and the kid immediately let the parents know she wanted it back! The woman quickly picked it up and handed it to her. The woman than said "God forbid she looses that straw". The man immediately followed with "oh great, and right back into the mouth it goes". I honestly laughed out loud. One big HA! Part of me wanted to turn around end let the parents know that dirt is good for their kid, but decided against that one. I mean I had just laughed at them.
