Tiny Giraffe!

I love the commercial with of that guy who is super rich and has a mini giraffe walking on a treadmill in the background, you know the commercial, right?

If you weren't sure by my vague description it is this one:

But more importantly, there is an amazing new website that lets you watch a petite giraffe hang out. During the day I have only gotten a glimpse of him wandering past the door, I assume there video gets more interesting at night when he comes in for bed. But who knows, I don't have this site bookmarked at home.

Now I am really torn, do I go for the mini pig or a petite giraffe??? Decisions, decisions....

Five Pounds of Love

Meet Miki:

He is a Morkie (Maltese and Yorkie mix), was born on July 11th, and has stole the hearts of my mum, dad, sister, and me. This little dude loves darting under our feet and pacing around the house to learn the lay of the land. He has the best fluffy hair-do which flops over his eyes in a "I will cause all the bitches (proper use of this word) in the yard to swoon".

At this point, we know very little about Miki and his interests. What we have determined is that he loves decorating his crate with small items he finds around the house (such as a travel size tissue pack, and a fake cardboard cellphone from a cellphone accessory), and has a thing for all things made of paper. Don't drop a receipt around him, he will pounce.

I can't wait for my next visit back home so I can cuddle up with the ball of fluff. Seriously, try to resist this dude.

SO FUZZY...I could die

Today I decided I wanted a pet bunny. But not a big rabbit. I want a dwarf bunny. I would prefer if he were really really really teeny. I don't have a lot of space a regular sized bunnies need really big cages. I just want a small bunny so he can have a smaller cage. Also, he would be easier to pick up. My only fear with having a small bunny is that he could be easily misplaced.

To my parents, who may or may not be reading this, you can feel reassured I will most likely give up on this plan by the time I get to my econ class. Something else will become more pressing in my mind, like a new pair of boots, leaving me with less disposable income and therefore keeping me bunnyless.

New Responsibilities!

I now have two new roommates. Fred and Benny. They are my new succulent plants. Fred is a Sovereign Blue (left) and Freddy is a Variegata (right).

Benny was named after my original kickball team, as he has pink edging along each leaf. Fred gets his name from the fact that I like naming objects Fred. :) These pictures were taken from the Proven Selections website (same company that makes the little stick thingy that is in the pots to tell you what kind of plant you are looking at). My Fred has a tall stalk that has a funny pink flower at the top. I would include a picture but my camera is being a bit finicky right now.

I have been told that succulents are pretty easy plants to keep. They do not need a ton of attention, but I did just think about that fact that I really should get around to watering them. It has been over a week. Ooops. They are also still in their original pots, and I have been informed that I should re-pot them into something else. Which will mean that I have to go out and purchase a new home for these guys. Good thing there is a nursery right down the street!

Pink and Smiles? Yes Please

This came from http://dailysquee.com/. He is cute, pink, and smiles. Of course I want him. I think he would be very happy living in my apartment with me. The site calls him a mudkip. When I google this, I come up with a bunch of sites that refer to Pokemon. So this makes me think that this image is not real - which saddens me, just a bit.

Surprise!

No lie, I have probably watched this video at least 15 time already in the last 24 hours. It is beyond cute. Please enjoy. I hope it brings a smile to your face. If it doesn't, well you may need to see someone...

Newest Accessory of the Season!

Purse puppies are so last season. The chihuahua is a thing of the past. I mean who wants to have to take care of a dog that gets exhausted from simple walking and requires sugar water to become re-energized. Elle Woods may have been someone to strive to be, who wants to be Paris?

Britain has a the new "it" pet. The teeny pig!! They are the size of a tea cup and go for about £700 (this equates to about $1,116.92). Rupert Grint aka Ron has one! I have loved pigs for so long now and totally have wanted one as a pet, but they big and well big. So instead I had hound dogs. But this would be an awesome solution to wanting a pig but not having the space for a potbelly!

I wonder if the apartment would be ok with me acquiring one. I can have up to one cat, but no dogs. I wonder where pigs fall in on this spectrum. I mean I think he could just live in the apartment. He would totally love living here with me. I just know it.

Here's a video! With tons of fun facts!

Contemplating becoming a Cat Woman

I'm moving in a few weeks! My lease says I can have a cat. I have wanted a DOG forever, but there are two big obstacles there:

  1. I am not responsible enough (I don't exactly keep to a schedule
  2. My lease doesn't allow for it

But after hanging out with my New York/New Jersey friends I realize that cats aren't too bad if they are friendly. The Doctor, Rose and Ganandorf (aka the JERK) are pretty great cats and I would like having one like them. So I have been playing with the idea recently. I mean, it would be nice to have another thing in the apartment with me. It will be my first time living really on my own. When I had a single for a semester one year (my roommate went a little crazy and moved out of our room and created a forced triple with two other people - I think we all know who won in that situation), my parents bought me a talking donkey (from shrek) as they thought I would need someone to talk to...thanks parents. But yeah, maybe I would need someone to greet me when I get home.

So as I am thinking about this my friend (the same New York friend with the cats) goes to this cabin for the holiday weekend and takes a picture of this kitten who lives there and may need a home:

I want him. I also want to name him Jack (as in Jack Sparrow). He has a wonky eye and I think it is adorable. I might have to make a formal inquiry about him once I move...
