When I started work I got such a great deal at the beach snack stand - free - that there was no cost benefit for bringing a sandwich from home. Two years later, my summer job changed and I started at an office. With no snack girls around throwing around free stuff, I realized there was a major advantage to packing a dinner (night shift 11 am - 10 pm) than buy a sandwich from D'Angelo. That advantage was $6 a day.

Nine years later, I am still bringing my lunch - a girl has got to save if she wants new snow boots! My one big beef with bringing a lunch is finding containers to put food in and then a bag durable to hold everything. For a while I tried using regular plastic bags but, since I bring along my silverware rather than plastic utensils, they were constantly getting ruined. I keep my eye out for shopping bags that are sturdy enough for the silverware but big enough to hold the containers I buy at the grocery store. (I am more of a leftovers than a sandwich kind of girl).

Well, I found what I have been dreaming of:

The only downside is that they are not microwave safe. So I would have to transfer food into a bowl to re-heat, but I try to do that now as I hear microwaving shortens the life of my rubbermade tupperware. I would lean towards the 3 tiered version as I now have to bring lunch and dinner most days with school and all.

Let's keep these on the "I want" list for when I have some spare change lying around.

SO FUZZY...I could die

Today I decided I wanted a pet bunny. But not a big rabbit. I want a dwarf bunny. I would prefer if he were really really really teeny. I don't have a lot of space a regular sized bunnies need really big cages. I just want a small bunny so he can have a smaller cage. Also, he would be easier to pick up. My only fear with having a small bunny is that he could be easily misplaced.

To my parents, who may or may not be reading this, you can feel reassured I will most likely give up on this plan by the time I get to my econ class. Something else will become more pressing in my mind, like a new pair of boots, leaving me with less disposable income and therefore keeping me bunnyless.

Cute Office Supplies

The best part of being an adult who has to work a traditional office job is getting unlimited access to the supply closet. This magical room allows for a person to decorate their desk with neon colored post-it notes, pink stencil notepads, colored felt pens, or so I imagine.

If I have to go back to cubicle living, I better have some fun paper products to play with to keep my notes nice and organized. While watching tv this morning, I saw an ad for the best new innovation in scotch tape.

This darling contraption grips onto the desk and provides the user with small pre-cut strips of tape. Imagine how easy it would be to wrap a Christmas present if I had this little bugger sitting pretty next to you. Yup, my life has come to fantasizing about the latest innovations in tape.

OMG best day ever

Four reasons today is AWESOME.

1. Super cute baby animals. There are tapirs, hyenas, polar bears, monkeys, pandas, and elephants. There were 89 of these pictures before I wonder where some of them went. There was a great miniature turtle he was small enough to stand on a person's finger!

2. First episode of Project Runway tonight at 9 pm. It is probably the classiest reality show that I watch. The only reason I even knew the show was going to start today was because I might have gotten sucked into "You're cut off" and there was an ad for the season premiere. As much as last season sucked and was positively boring, I will give the show one more chance. That was the lost season, we all knew it would bomb...

3. The hairy chests of Chuck and Dan. Poor Nate, he just can't deliver the goods. I have been arguing with a teammate about whether females like hairy men and he refuses to believe me we like it. Don't tell me these guys don't look good.

4. Season premiere of The Jersey Shore. As much as I have said over and over that I will not support this show and am completely over these numbnuts, I just can't stay away. I hope someone gets in a fight and another brings home a grenade.

5. On a personal note, I made a martini for the first time in a week. Yummy.

and now there is one more to my list...

6. When I went to find an image of awesome things I found the blog Oh My That's Awesome. Who doesn't love some cleaning slippers?

Awwww Puppies!

I was watching the tv and there were a slew of commercials starring puppies. Of course I couldn't bring myself to fast forward any of them. The first was for Pedigree dog food. The company is donating a portion of the sales for each purchase of Pedigree food. I was so moved by the commercial I was tempted to purchase some even though I do not own a dog. Please know that I quickly realized it would make more sense to just donate directly to local shelters.

The next commercial was a Cesar dog food commercial that just makes me smile. Nothing like a Great Dane trying to fit in a bike basket. :)

Pink and Smiles? Yes Please

This came from http://dailysquee.com/. He is cute, pink, and smiles. Of course I want him. I think he would be very happy living in my apartment with me. The site calls him a mudkip. When I google this, I come up with a bunch of sites that refer to Pokemon. So this makes me think that this image is not real - which saddens me, just a bit.

No lie, I have probably watched this video at least 15 time already in the last 24 hours. It is beyond cute. Please enjoy. I hope it brings a smile to your face. If it doesn't, well you may need to see someone...

Screw puppies, I want one of these!

Say hello to Honduran White Bats. They are only 37-47 mm long which is roughly 1.45 - 1.85 inches (or so the online converter tells me).

They kind of remind me of puffballs with pig faces.

They also live in leaf tents.

A-DOR-A-BLE.

No words. Found this link via twitter today.

I don't have anything particularly clever to say about these guys except for AWWWWWW.
